MYM Academy provides free, in-depth industry training to young people interested in a career in media, film or TV.
From absolute beginners, through to industry standard, we support young people to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to be career ready. Opening up creative opportunities to learn from professionals, grow a network and most importantly access life changing opportunities and paid work.
Online Drop-in Masterclasses
Open to 16-26 year olds
If you want to discover more about your favourite MYM films and what happens behind the scenes on set, watch on or join the conversation. Actors, film professionals and our team in training share experiences and answer questions via Zoom, Insta Live and Live Stream on the MYM Channel.
Level Up Programme
Each year we take young people on to our MYM team, providing more intensive skills training and personal development for absolute beginners, intermediate through to advanced. On their own creative projects and professional commissions they quickly build the experience and confidence they need to progress to paid roles. Setting their own goals, attending meetings and learning from peer mentors and industry professionals.
Our team reflects our community and places are available to young creatives who have not taken a traditional path; qualifications are not essential but commitment is.
Young people that have completed our programme, go on to work in the industry or join our professional Fully Focused Team leading on projects and taking on a range of paid roles.
Places are limited and get booked up quickly.
Set-Ready Training
Young people who have completed our beginners programme can attend Set Ready Training (AQA Accredited) which allows them take up paid opportunities on our own productions and via our growing network of industry partnerships.
